Anxiety and low self-esteem is closely related. That is, those people who have anxiety problems tend to be more prone to developing self-esteem problems. The objective of this research was to analyze the existing correlation between anxiety and self-esteem in high school students. The methodology used was quantitative, basic, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional. For the results, Spearman's correlation was performed. Where a Rho= -0.674 was obtained, that is, that the relationship between the variables is inversely proportional (negative), the p-value associated with the statistic is less than 0.05, therefore, it is also statistically significant and of moderate intensity. This means that as the level of anxiety increases, the level of self-esteem in the participant’s decreases. Conclusions: The results of this study show that there is a negative and significant correlation between anxiety and self-esteem, which suggests the importance of improving self-esteem as an effective strategy to reduce anxiety in various settings, including education
