Introduction: The characterization the behavior of the high socioeconomic consumer in the tourist lodging sector in Baños Canton requires a detailed exploration of the multiple factors that determine their choices and preferences. This analysis implies understanding the motivations, expectations and priorities that guide this specific segment of the population in their tourist lodging decisions. Objective: To characterize the consumer behavior of the high socioeconomic class in the tourism sector in Baños Canton. Methodology: A quantitative approach was used, by collecting data with numerical measurement, for which an instrument (questionnaire) was applied to characterize the lodging in Baños canton, for consumers of the high socioeconomic class. The research shows that the preference of the upper class for luxurious accommodations goes beyond the typical amenities. They are looking for a combination of highly personalized services, sophisticated design and unforgettable experiences that connect with the local culture and environment, reflecting a balance between traditional luxury and a personal, authentic touch. These consumers rely on recommendations from their social circle and online reviews from peers when choosing accommodations. In addition, they value sustainability and social responsibility of establishments, expecting eco-friendly practices. In conclusion, high-end consumers demonstrate a clear preference for high quality services, generating a constant demand for exclusive amenities and experiences.
