Abstract

For the present project, it is proposed to design and implement a machine that will allow exposing the studies that have been carried out on the factors of a Pin on Disk mechanical system applying the ASTM G99 standard, relating it to the field of tribology. This is to serve as a starting point to evaluate the influence of wear, coefficient of friction and the volume of lubrication caused by movements on solid surfaces when in continuous contact, thus providing practical and/or technical knowledge in this area. of Mechanics. For the fulfillment of the purpose, the characteristics of the various components that will be essential for the elaboration and implementation of the design were taken into account, so some parameters must be considered such as: sizing of the disc and pin, processes of the mechanical design system, material selection, speed control and electrical system. According to the ASTM G99 – 95a standard, which is attached at the end of this writing as an annex, it mentions that for wear tests on Pin-On-Disk type machines, the conditions under which the tests have been carried out are found. in laboratories and results obtained. When carrying out the implementation of this Pin-On-Disk type abrasive testing machine, it was possible to obtain a satisfactory design, optimizing resources, both in the use of materials and in terms of economics. Likewise, when observing the performance of the product obtained, it was possible to appreciate that it is in accordance with the stated objectives, by demonstrating friction coefficients, and other functions in the simulation of the activities corresponding to the team.
