The present study aimed to examine the connection between obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and addiction to social networks in young people from Ecuador. Through an online survey, participants' use of social media, anxiety and stress levels, and OCD symptoms were assessed. The results revealed that the time young people spend on social media is correlated with an increased risk of developing OCD symptoms. The study's theoretical framework provided insights into OCD and its impact on young people's lives, as well as previous research on the relationship between social media addiction and mental health. In the discussion, the need for preventive and treatment measures to address these mental health problems in young people was emphasized. In conclusion, addiction to social networks is significantly related to OCD symptoms in young people, and it is important that this connection be considered for the prevention and treatment of mental health problems associated with excessive use of social networks
