Author Guidelines

Authors interested in publishing in the UTC Prospectivas journal should upload their proposals to the OJS platform. There is no deadline, as the journal is open for submissions year-round. Articles received by May will be published in July of the same year, while manuscripts received by November of the current year will be published in January of the following year. Proposals must be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration by another journal. To ensure this, authors must attach a letter of assignment of rights to their proposal.

The Editorial Committee of UTC Prospectivas will thoroughly evaluate each proposal submitted to ensure that there is no academic plagiarism or excessive use of undeclared AI. If either of these is found, the proposal will be automatically rejected. UTC Prospectivas magazine and its Editorial Committee are not responsible for possible conflicts of interest between authors. The opinions published, of any kind, will be the sole responsibility of the authors.

The maximum number of authors allowed per proposal is four; if this number is exceeded, the Editorial Board must be provided with a justification for evaluation.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted for consideration to any other journal.

  • The manuscript complies with the criteria set forth in the Guidelines for Authors.

  • The manuscript adheres to the formatting requirements.
    The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect format (.doc / .docx).

  • The figures and tables are fully legible and have been added to the manuscript as editable objects.

  • The use of generative AI to assist in the development of the manuscript is disclosed, with corresponding citations and references (if applicable).

Artículos de investigación aplicada

Deben presentar los resultados originales de proyectos de investigación, detallados y estructurados. Estos manuscritos deben seguir una estructura rigurosa, incluyendo una introducción que justifique el problema, una metodología detallada, resultados claros, una discusión con implicaciones prácticas y conclusiones que vinculen los hallazgos con aplicaciones reales. Además, requieren validación empírica, es decir, datos experimentales, estudios de caso o modelos probados que sustenten las propuestas, evitando limitarse a reflexiones teóricas sin respaldo.

Artículos de revisión

Un artículo de revisión es un tipo de manuscrito académico que sintetiza y analiza investigaciones previas sobre un tema específico, ofreciendo una perspectiva crítica y actualizada del estado del conocimiento en un campo determinado. Estos artículos no presentan datos originales, sino que recopilan, comparan y discuten hallazgos de estudios publicados, identificando tendencias, vacíos en la literatura y futuras líneas de investigación.

Los manuscritos de este tipo  que podrían considerarse para publicación incluyen: Revisiones sistemáticas, Metaanálisis, Análisis bibliométricos, entro otros.

By submitting their articles, the authors grant the journal the right of first publication and agree that their works may be distributed under terms that allow open access and academic use, while always maintaining recognition of their original authorship. The journal does not require the transfer of economic rights, so authors retain full freedom to use, disseminate, and reuse their works, with the only condition of citing their initial publication in this journal.
