Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic may have had an impact on the deteriorated social skills of the students, added to a limited development at the educational level, despite the application of cooperative learning. Therefore, the present research aims to analyze the relationship between social skills and cooperative learning in high school students of the PCEI CADVRISH Educational Unit. A quantitative, exploratory, descriptive and correlational methodology was used, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 90 students selected by non-probabilistic convenience sampling, who were administered two instruments, the Social Skills Questionnaire (CHASO) and a Cooperative Learning questionnaire, validated by university experts. The results indicated moderate level of social skills and regular level of cooperative learning. The correlational analysis showed that there is no statistically significant correlation between social skills and cooperative learning, nor between their dimensions. Thus, there is no relationship between the study variables, and it is necessary to investigate new variables that could be associated with both social skills and cooperative learning.
