Abstract

In this article, the results of an implementation project carried out in the city of La Maná are presented, with the purpose of addressing the needs of the community in collaboration with local residents. A comprehensive analysis of the challenges faced by the rural sector, such as limited economic resources and a lack of entrepreneurial training, was conducted to find effective solutions. The close collaboration between the UTC and the community was crucial for the success of the project, allowing electromechanical engineering students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical situations and make a positive impact on society. The obtained results were encouraging, benefiting a total of 310 individuals in 7 sectors of the Cotopaxi province, specifically in the La Maná canton and its surroundings. The implemented activities, including electrical installations, training courses in residential installations, manufacturing of sports equipment, and infrastructure maintenance, significantly contributed to improving the beneficiaries' quality of life. This project demonstrates the potential of electromechanical engineering to address the needs of rural communities and promote sustainable development. The successful implementation of these community-oriented engineering activities strengthens the relationship between academia and society, showcasing the commitment of students and the university to their contribution to social well-being.
