Abstract

The main objective of the research was to evaluate the adaptation of the varieties INIAP-Fortaleza 2020 and INIAP-82 to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the Salache campus of the Technical University of Cotopaxi, Eloy Alfaro Parish, Latacunga Canton, located at an altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level, the climate is dry temperate cold, with a temperature of 13.2 °C, relative humidity of 82%, with an average annual rainfall of 0.7 mm and the soil is sandy loam, in addition fermented whey milk was applied as fertilizer. For the experimental design, the model of divided plots (A x B) was used, where four treatments with four replications were obtained, the factors evaluated were germination percentage, coverage, plant height, green matter and grain yield, a chemical analysis of the lactoferment was also carried out, obtaining the following results: the oat variety INIAP-Fortaleza 2020 showed better agronomic performance, with a height of 110.28 cm at 107 days, ear size 16.49 cm and 4492.12 kg/ha-1; As for its chemical composition, the lactoferment contains elements such as iron (3 ppm), zinc (0.20 ppm), nickel (791 ppm), calcium (1547 ppm), phosphorus (468 ppm) and magnesium (78 ppm), which act as fertilizers for plant development.
