The research was conducted based on a post-positivist paradigm, with a non-experimental design method, with a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive-correlational approach. The objective of this research is to determine the compliance of the competency profile and work commitment under the ISO-9001 standard in the Production Units of the Technical University of Ambato. To do this, it is necessary to understand that competencies are determined by factors such as knowledge, skills and experience. In this sense, a process is carried out for job profiles, linking the analysis, description and evaluation of them, so that work commitment is related to remuneration and therefore to their attitude. Similarly, a survey questionnaire was developed consisting of 23 items that were structured by means of the requirements of the ISO-9001:2015 standard, specifically focused on 7.2 and 7.3 related to competencies and awareness, once the instrument was validated by experts and the necessary corrections were made, the reliability of the instrument was analyzed by means of Cronbach's alpha so that it can be applied. Subsequently, the normality test was performed by Shapiro-Wilk, where normal distribution was determined, which is why parametric tests are applied. Finally, the research variables have a statistically significant direct positive correlation relationship (rho = 0.711).
