Impact of public policies on the post covid economy of Ambato entrepreneurs

Abstract

The pandemic caused multiple problems worldwide and even more so in the business network. The objective of this study is to analyze the public policies implemented by the national and local government post Covid and their impact on the economy of Ambato businessmen. The methodology is based on a quantitative approach, with a simple exploratory and descriptive design, with a cross-section, applied to 186 companies from different sectors, affiliated with the Ambato Chamber of Commerce. The hypothesis for the relationship of variables is considered, which will be verified with the Chi Square statistician. The results show that in the city of Ambato, despite the existence of government financing programs, these were unknown to most companies, so they accessed financing with private institutions; In addition, there was a direct impact on the workers of the companies and also on the implementation of sales and improvement strategies. The result of the Chi Square takes the alternative hypothesis. In conclusion, the evaluation of the effects of the economic support and stimulus policies implemented by the local government on the post-Covid recovery of entrepreneurs in Ambato shows that these policies have been fundamental in overcoming the crisis and laying the foundations for sustainable economic growth. However, it is necessary to continue working on improving access mechanisms and on continuous adaptation to changes in the business environment.
