Abstract

This research project has information with the purpose of clearly examining how socioeconomic mechanisms influence the variables of the Cocoa and Coffee sector in Ecuador. The main objective of the study is to analyze the Impact of COVID-19 on the Cocoa and Coffee Value Chain in Ecuador.  The proposed study is analyzed and the quantitative approach is used with the longitudinal design applying a descriptive correlational link. With the information for the analysis of data from the following statistical sources such as: Ministry and Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries (MAGAD), Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE), National Institute of Surveys and Censuses (INEC), International Organization of Coffee. (icocofee.org) and the National Financial Corporation (CFN).  With the data obtained through research, it allows us to obtain the contribution of statistical models, the application of statistical models in data analysis, which is essential to understand behavior and identify how the periods of Covid-19 will affect exports of cocoa and coffee products at the national level.  For the cocoa and coffee sector, the use of models such as scatter diagrams, times series and polynomial regressions allows interpreting the relationship between socioeconomic variables, such as production, prices, climatic conditions, and demand in national and international markets. The results of Covid-19 and socioeconomic factors have a relationship with coffee and cocoa products, there is a compensation of the sector variables among themselves at the national.
