Años 2016 – 2020_2021, volume={8}, url={https://investigacion.utc.edu.ec/index.php/utciencia/article/view/366}, abstractNote={Se realizó un estudio descriptivo y transversal con el objetivo de caracterizar el comportamiento clínico y epidemiológico de pacientes diagnosticados con cáncer bucal en el municipio. Contramaestre, provincia Santiago de Cuba, en el período comprendido entre los años 2016 y 2020. El universo de estudio quedó conformado por las 28 personas diagnosticadas. Las variables estudiadas fueron: edad, sexo, factores de riesgo, localización, diagnóstico histológico y etapa clínica. El grupo más afectado fue el de 60 a 69 años con un 39,3 % y el sexo masculino con el 71,43 %. El tabaquismo, la higiene bucal deficiente y la sepsis bucal fueron los factores de riesgo de cáncer bucal que más incidieron, donde el sexo masculino y el grupo de 60 a 69 años fueron los más frecuentes, encontrándose localizado predominantemente en la base de lengua.
