The Ecuadorian textile sector faces competitiveness challenges stemming from limited process standardization and a lack of investment in innovation. Given this reality, this study aimed to determine the relationship between process management and business innovation by applying process modeling tools specific to the textile sector to companies classified under the CIIU code C1410.04. The methodology employed a post-positivist paradigm with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, correlational, and descriptive design. Two questionnaires were administered: the first focused on the textile sector, with a representative sample of 54 managers identified in the Internal Revenue Service (SRI) registry; and the second administered to the internal staff of the company under study, with a representative sample of 15 employees. The results, obtained using Spearman's correlation coefficient, showed a strong positive correlation (ρ = 0,822) between the study variables. The findings from the textile sector demonstrate the need to move from empirical practices to structured methodologies, such as the PDCA cycle, which is fundamental for reducing waste, optimizing time, and strengthening innovative capacity, thereby consolidating the sector's competitiveness in the digital age. Furthermore, the production processes were diagrammed using the SIPOC diagram and the value stream map, tools that allowed for the identification of bottlenecks, the promotion of continuous improvement, and the optimization of workflows.
